How Do I Turn on International Roaming?

Roaming is a wireless telecommunication term typically used with mobile devices. It refers to the mobile phone being used outside the range of its home network and connects to another available cell network.

Banglalink Prepaid Roaming

  • Any prepaid subscriber with a valid subscription paper and international credit card with 3 months’ validity can avail the roaming service
  • To activate the service, customers need to visit the nearest Banglalink Customer Care Center
  • Once activated, Banglalink Prepaid Roaming subscriber can use all types of voice calls along with sending and receiving SMS abroad. The customer shall have separate accounts for roaming balance
  • GPRS roaming is not available for prepaid subscribers
  1. The customer shall have separate accounts for roaming balance. For recharging the roaming account, the customer needs to go to the Banglalink Customer Care Center. Only a Customer Care (CC) agent can recharge the roaming account on behalf of the user. The Customer Care's link, phone number or address of centers should be stated for the convenience of the readers
  2. Roaming balance can be viewed by dialing *909#
  3. The amount recharged in the roaming account can be used only while roaming abroad. It is not allowed to transfer roaming balance to the main account
  4. Roaming balance shall have a lifetime validity

Requirements for Availing Prepaid Roaming Service:

  • A Banglalink prepaid subscription with ISD connectivity
  • An international credit card with at least 3 month's validity
  • Properly filled and signed International Roaming Form (Prepaid)
  • Copy of subscription paper of the Prepaid subscription with ISD facility

Grameen Phone

Similar to Banglalink Roaming, GP also provides some attractive features in terms of roaming.

To Activate Robi Roaming - 

  • First users need to fill up the form decided for prepaid or postpaid users.
  • Next they have to submit all the requested documents. Documents are such,
  1. Both side copy of the credit card
  2. Copy of the personal information and Dollar endorsement page
  3. Corporate customers need to take an extra step. They have to fill up the IR subscription form.
  • After all requested documents are arranged, it's time to submit those to the nearest Robi sheba center or email at myroaming@robi.com.bd.

 

    Security Deposit (Prepaid)

    • No security deposit required for prepaid.
    • The initial minimum recharge for prepaid is USD25.
    • For further recharge, the minimum recharge amount is USD5. The customer can recharge any multiplication of 5 (5,10,15 etc.) depending on the requirement.

    Security Deposit (Postpaid)

     
    No security deposit is required upon Auto Debitinstruction for the following partner banks for postpaid.
    — Standard Chartered Bank Limited
    — Eastern Bank Limited
    — City Bank Limited
    — United Commercial Bank Limited

    For the other banks, Tk.10,000 security deposit will be charged as security deposit (Refundable) from the credit card

    • Enjoy a 50% waiver on Security Deposit through My Robi App
    • If you activate International Roaming using My Robi App, you will avail a 50% waiver on Roaming Security Deposit (BDT 5000).
